Rickie Fowler has officially missed out on this year’s US Open and he only missed qualifying by one shot in the 36-hole qualifier at Brookside Country Club in Columbus Ohio. He went 73 and 66 to ultimately just fall short of having a trip to Torrey Pines which is where this year’s US Open is being played. This will be the first time Fowler missed out on the US Open in over 10 years. The last time he missed the US Open was in 2010. As a fan, I would love to see Fowler get a win soon. He has a great attitude on and off the course which makes him an extremely likeable guy. He is also extremely real with the media. He doesn’t put on a fake face…he just tells it how it is. For instance, Fowler came out and said that his recent poor play has affected the relationship between him and his wife along with him and his caddie. Golf is a tough sport…guys go through hot streaks and cold streaks throughout their career. Hopefully Fowler can get back to his old self and start winning tournaments again.
