In 2020, the MLB announced it’s decision to get rid of the Indians nickname which has become increasingly divisive to some. The plan was to keep the “Indians” nickname all the way through the 2021 season and change to the “Guardians” for the start of the 2022 season. This morning, the Indians Twitter page dropped the video which shows the organization’s new name and logo. The official change will be happening very soon, though it is not known as to what exact date they will be switching their name and logo. Here are the logos for the “Cleveland Guardians”.
