The Carolina Panthers held their first practice with pads on Tuesday and it ended up being a scary day for wide receiver Keith Kirkwood. Kirkwood was trying to catch a pass in a scrimmage when Ibe came flying through and basically went straight at the receiver’s head/neck area. Kirkwood was taken away in an ambulance and it’s uncertain as to what injuries he may have. The one positive was that he was moving his legs before being put onto a stretcher. Interestingly, Kirkwood had two broken collarbones last season.
Safety J.T. Ibe was kicked out of practice and was actually waived by the Panthers due to the unnecessary hit. Below is the video of the hit that Ibe put on Kirkwood.
