Shohei Ohtani has been nothing short of remarkable so far this MLB season. Wednesday night, Ohtani hit his 40th home run at Comerica Park against the Tigers. What’s even crazier is that Ohtani was starting for the Angels in this game and he went ahead and pitched 8 innings of 1-run baseball. His stat line finished…8 innings pitched, 8 strikeouts, 1 earned run. Those were just his pitching stats of course. He went 1 for 4 as a hitter, but he made his one hit count as he sent it over the center field fence to give the Angels a 3-1 lead. He now has hit 40 home runs and he’s the first player get to that mark this season. Ohtani also holds a ERA under 3.00 as a starting pitcher which is unbelievable. Could he win Cy Young and MVP? I don’t see why not!
