Jake Arrieta is making his debut with the Padres tonight and the over/under is the highest of the 2021 MLB season…

The San Diego Padres are currently in the midst of a complete free fall and they need someone to give them a spark if they’re going to make the playoffs. They’ve lost back-to-back games against the horrible Rockies and are 1-6 in their last 7 games. Since July 1st, the Padres are 18-22 and during that time they’ve actually been worse than Colorado who is 20-19. These two teams will wrap up their 3 game series on Wednesday when pitcher Jake Arrieta will make his Padres debut at Coors Field. The Cubs released Arrieta and the Padres snatched him up quick due to the amount of injuries their pitching staff has gone through. They currently have 13 pitchers on the injured list including Yu Darvish and Chris Paddack. The over/under for today’s game between the two teams is set at 14 which is the highest over/under total of the season so far. It’s understandable once you see that in Arrieta’s last 15 starts with the Cubs, he had a 8.95 ERA while allowing 19 home runs in 58 1/3 innings pitched.
