For the first time since May 30, the San Francisco Giants are not sitting in the first place spot in the NL West. Last night, the Giants loss to the Brewers and the Dodgers beat the Braves which sent LA up a spot and San Fran down a spot. The Dodgers are a half game up in the division and they hold baseball’s best record at 85-49.
The best records in the MLB are…
- Dodgers: 85-49
- Giants: 84-49
- Rays: 84-49
- Brewers: 82-52
- Astros: 78-44
I don’t see the Giants being good enough to end up winning the NL West, but you never know. Nobody saw them holding that 1st place lead for over 100 days like they did. Baseball is a weird sport and it wouldn’t surprise me if they at least made it interesting down the stretch.
