At just 22 years old, starting pitcher Roansy Contreras has been a bright spot for the Pittsburgh Pirates so far this season. Through 7 starts, he has a 2.76 ERA and 42 strikeouts in 42.1 innings pitched. Contreras currently has the lowest ERA of any Pittsburgh starting pitchers. In his last 2 starts, he has gone 5 innings and just given up 1 run despite not having his best stuff. He will be tested tonight against a solid Brewers lineup at PNC Park. Right now its about the small wins for the Pirates…and this seems to be one of those guys they can try to build around in the starting lineup.
