Athletics pitcher Chris Bassitt is out of the hospital after suffering facial fracture from 100-mph line drive

What a scary 24 hours for pitcher Chris Bassitt and his family. Chris was hit directly in the face with a 100-mph line drive off the bat off White Sox hitter Brian Goodwin. The ball struck Bassitt on the right side of his face, in the upper cheek area. Luckily, Bassitt did not lose consciousness and was able to communicate with the medical staff. The Athletics released an update early on Wednesday saying that Chris suffered a facial fracture and the best news was that his vision was not impaired. Chris will have surgery in a few days, once the swelling subsides from his face.
